Featured in Advanced Photoshop

Featured in Advanced Photoshop Magazine Issue 46. Insight two page spread on the Kaboom Collaboration Project.

I can't wait till my last two classes are over. Been putting a lot of photography gig on hold until I am fully out of school, for full time freelancing. Reasons being that I get distracted by it which may affect my school performance, not risking that right now...I have many plans, and projects but they will have to wait until I am fully out and in the playground.

Hope you all enjoy the summer, it is quite hot out so stay cool. ;)

The Kaboom Ink is about to take off, waiting on few more artist participants and the book is on its way. I am also working on the first four pages to get things rolling. This is going to be some treat to see at the end.

Kaboom Collaboration - INK

Kaboom Collaboration

Expansion Pack

"Ink"

---

Introducing the new extension to the Kaboom Collaboration project under the expansion pack: "Ink".

Overall the project has been digital collaborations between the artists and myself. Digital graphics and illustrations with digital photography considered, there is a need to go back to the roots with traditional methods of expression. With this need, I have adopted the idea of passing a sketchbook from one artist to another to tell a story through different styles each artist possesses.

This addition to the expansion pack is called "Ink". Basically, the artist uses ink to sketch out his/her visuals to continue a story that the previous artist has started. This project is quite the opposite of the current digital methods: there is no undo - any marking made on the paper is permanent; and with the combined time for drawing and travel from one artist to the next, the process also takes longer.

With this in mind, this new addition to the project will give the audience an alternative sense of authenticity and add a more organic approach to creating.

---

I would like to invite traditional artists to this project. If you are interested in participating, here are the details:

Qualifications:

:bulletgreen: Open to the first 25 artists, to visual artists and writers.

:bulletgreen: Visual artists:  send me a link to your online portfolio that demonstrates your traditional use of pen drawings for consideration.

:bulletgreen: Writers: to allow me to get a sense of your style, send me a link to any writings you have published online.

:bulletgreen: This project is on a first come, first serve basis (after acceptance).

---

Theme:

:bulletgreen: The theme of this first sketchbook is childhood. With the guidelines you are allowed to express what childhood is to you, share your childhood memories, or a memory you wish you had, and so on.

---

Rules:

:bulletgreen: Each artist gets 4 pages to complete. No more, no less.

:bulletgreen: There is a 1 week duration for the completion of the 4 pages.

:bulletgreen: Only these tools are allowed: ink pen, whiteout, and markers. Please do not cut the pages, or use watercolor or spray paints.

:bulletgreen: Please do not touch the previous work done by other artists.

:bulletgreen: During the procession of the book  you are responsible for its safety and cleanliness.

:bulletgreen: Please do not rip or tear out pages. If you would like a copy of your finished sketch, you are allowed to scan it, but do not claim other artists work as your own.

:bulletgreen: You must sign and print your name somewhere small on each of the 4 pages. Don't let that be the focal point.

:bulletgreen: You are responsible for mailing the sketchbook to the next artist on the list.

:bulletgreen: The final artist will mail the book back to me to complete its journey.

:bulletgreen: All of the works done by you are copyrighted to you.

:bulletgreen: When signing up for this project you are allowing me, as the project director, to use the images to promote the Kaboom Collaboration project.

:bulletgreen: If the book ever sells, each artist will get 4% of the final price. Though 4% may seem little, it is a fair division to all 25 artists. Also, the book will not be cheap.

The sketchbook will one day be an exhibition. If you would like to be part of this project please send me a note for consideration.

I will start the first 4 pages. Will you be the next artist I send the book to?
